The Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji has trained Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Air Forces officers on a combined joint operation, aiming at ensuring effective discharge of their duties especially in the area of tactics and counter terrorism.
The Deputy Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Rear Admiral Ifeola Mohammed affirmed that the College has always been in the forefront of teaching officers to ensure they are fully equipped both in ideals and tactics.
He made the affirmation to newsmen at the end of intensive field Exercise UBIAK-ISIN, Junior Course 84 shortly after touring various operation units of the Exercise in Kaduna, North West, Nigeria on Saturday.
According to him, the ten-day intensive field training of about one hundred and forty students is for the officers to operate in a very innovative manner.
Rear Admiral Mohammed also noted that exercise is for them to be able to deliver on assigned task or mission to capture objectives and ensure that they achieve success in whatever they are doing.
The Deputy Commandant mentioned that Exercise ‘UBIAK-ISIN were a joint operation with the Armed Forces component, Maritime and Air component coming together to operate jointly to given realism to the operation they are carry out against the insurgents.
“That is what we expected in a real life when we have three Armed of the Armed Forces component, maritime and Air component coming together to operate jointly to given realism to the operation we are carry out against the insurgents”
“As you are aware, the Armed Forces Staff College is in the forefront of teaching to ensure the personnel are fully equipped both in ideals and tactics to operate very innovative manner and be able to deliver on assigned task or mission to capture objectives and ensure that we achieve success in whatever we are doing” he said.
He expressed happiness, saying the officers have put in their very best and demonstrate that they have learnt what is been thought them and able to prove to show that they are capable to deliver on assigned task whenever they are called upon.
“I am very impress that the officers have put in their very best and demonstrate to us that they have learnt what we have been teaching and for the past days.
“They have been exercising and they have been able to prove their mentor to show that indeed, they are capable to deliver on assigned task whenever they are called upon”.
“We have developed our concept that all our teaches are joint operation, both the Army, Navy and Air forces for all to work jointly together in harmony and to ensure they will be able to quickly energetically deliver assigned mission.
“This is because each person’s efforts will complement the other than alone, it will give us a greater mandate” Rear Admiral Mohammed lamented.
Rear Admiral Mohammed therefore affirmed that for what he have seen during the exercise, there has been remarkably improvement and would continue strive to improve, adding that the College will pick up teachings points and use it to improve on subsequent exercise.
