Anambra Command of Federal Fire Service receives two fire fighting trucks from FG

The Federal government has through the Federal Fire Service, equipped Federal Fire Service, Anambra State Command with two brand new fire fighting trucks to aid fire fighting in the State.

Our correspondent was at the
commissioning ceremony and reports that while commissioning the trucks at the State Fire Service Headquarters in
Awka, Governor Willie Obiano who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke, thanked the Federal Fire Service for the gesture which he said will improve the service delivery of the Agency in Anambra.

The Governor while assuring that his government will continue to give the State Fire Service all necessary support for the protection of lives and property of Ndi Anambra, expressed hope that the State Fire Service will still benefit more from the Federal Fire Service.

Speaking earlier, the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Dr. Liman Alhaji Ibrahim represented by Deputy Controller General, Engineer Calistus Agu, said that the deployment of the fire fighting assets to the State is in line with the resolve of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration to ensure the safety of lives and
property of the citizenry, and to complement fire fighting efforts of
the State Fire Service.

On his part, the Managing Director of Anambra State Fire Service, Retired Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi, promised that the Agency will serve the State better with the new fire fighting trucks.

The Governor was during the event honoured by the Federal Fire Service for his numerous support to the State Fire Service.

Among dignitaries present at the event were Secretary to Anambra State
Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Anambra State Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr. Emeka Ezenwanne, among others.
