Give Ndigbo IG of Police position, Ohanaeze President tells Buhari

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly Worldwide, Barrister Basil Onyeachonam Onuorah has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for yielding to the long time expectations of Nigerians for the change of Service Chiefs.

The President General in a press statement made available to newsmen however lamented that there is no Igbo man among the newly appointed service Chiefs.

According to him, those  who claim that the newly appointed Chief of Defense Staff Maj Gen Leo Irabor is an Igbo man should tell the lgbos if IRABOR is an Igbo name.


Barrister Onyeachonam Onuorah called on the APC led Federal Government to consider an Igbo man for the position of new Inspector General of Police.

He said the call is imperative as the Inspector General of Police is due for retirement and fast getting ready to exit police apex position.

The President General noted that if there is no Igbo man or woman qualified for the job of IGP, promote the Igbos next in line in the Police Force to to fit in.

He therefore Congratulated the newly appointed Service Chiefs as they get themselves prepared for the onerous task and daring challenges of insecurity in the country.
