The Coalition of Southern Kaduna Nationalities (CSKN) says they will no longer guarantee their votes to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 9th of March, 2019 Saturday’s gubernatorial election for insincerity and inconsistency of Zone One (1) because of its strength of result on the 23rd Presidential election.

The Co-ordinator of the Coalition, Dr. Yusuf Gandu Magaji who stated this during a press conference in Kaduna said this is because of the betrayer of confidence and trust among the PDP Stalwarts in Zone 1 for not delivery their Ward which questioned their continued loyalty to the Party.

The Coalition demanded from PDP Stalwarts from Zone 1 a concrete and convincing explanation within 24 hours as a matter of urgency while Zone Three should not negotiate with other variable political party for the governorship elections.

According to them, Zone 3 remained faithful and voted for the Party en-mass but in sharp contrast, the Party performed woefully in Zone 1 as their loyalty was shifted to All Progressive Party (APC)

The Coalition said failure to respond within the time frame will make them to begin negotiations with the party of their choice that can be trusted as they have capacity to turn their votes elsewhere.

The Coalition said they have already set up people that would start the process of negotiation should PDP fails in convincing them.

“Why we agree that the APC has short changed the Southern Kaduna people and has not treated us fairly and justly in the past four (4) years, the result of which we strict to the PDP as viable alternative, there is a reason to become skeptical with the Party.

“This is by virtue of the betrayal of trust glaringly emanating from the PDP camp. There are ample reasons to doubt the sincerity of key party stalwarts by the strength of the results of the elections of 23rd February, 2019.

“The results of the presidential election show that PDP won overwhelmingly in the southern senatorial zone. This stressed a fact that Zone 3 remained faithful and voted for the party en-mass. However, in sharp contrast, the party performed woefully in Zone 1 as their loyalty was shifted on APC.

“We believed that there is betrayal of confidence and trust among the party stalwarts in Zone 1 who can no longer be trusted. We are forces to re-examine our commitment to the party as such we no longer guarantee our vote to PDP in the gubernatorial elections at the moment by virtue of the  insincerity and inconsistency in Zone 1.

“The CSKN demands from Zone 1 a concrete and convincing explanation within 24 hours as a matter of urgency on why Zone 3 should not negotiate with another variable political party for the governorship elections.

“Failure to respond within this time frame will make us to begin negotiations with the party of our choice that can be trusted; We have the capacity to turn our votes elsewhere overnight especially to a candidates that can honour agreement” They Stressed.

They condemned the killings in Southern Kaduna in strong term despite the countless assurance by the security agents on the resolve to control the situation and called on the security agents to be committed and live up to its expectations.
