The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kaduna State has officially announced the conclusion of the Continuous Voter’s Registration (CVR) with a total registration of 537,874 voters in State.
Addressing newsmen on the success of the exercise in Kaduna on Saturday, 1st September, 2018, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Kaugama disclosed that more men were registered this time than women with a fresh registration of 537,874 voters.
According to him, the number consist of 302,342 male and 235,532 female, Collected PVCs 52,507, uncollected PVCs 269,787, Corrections 29,179, defaced: 4,018, lost 17,298 and Yet to be printed 9,622 (up to 2017).
Others include Inter-state transfer 8,239 (From other states to Kaduna), Intra- state transfer 19,434 (within the state).
“The Commission wishes to inform the public that the ongoing collection of PVCs will not end with the CVR exercise. Collection of PVCs will continue until a week before the general elections in 2019.
“With the conclusion of the CVR exercise, the public is expected to come for the display, hearing of claims and objections from Tuesday 4th to Saturday Sept, 2018 at our LGA offices.
“Let me seize this opportunity to call on all those yet to collect their PVCs to do so at our LGA offices which will remain open as always, while those who registered, got transferred, lost, or whose PVCs are yet to be printed etc to be rest assured of getting their PVCs before the general elections.
“While assuring the public of our commitment and credible election in 2019, God willing, I would like to once again thank the good people of Kaduna State for their continued cooperation and understanding”, Alhaji Kaugama ended.
