Melandi: Nigeria Women Volleyball Federation Team to depart to Abidjan for World Cup Tournament

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) says the country’s women volleyball team is expected to depart this Thursday for Abidjan, Cote D’ivoire to participate at the Women World Cup Tournament.

This is after two week training in camp at Abuja which 14 female players made the final list.

According to a statement jointly signed by the Secretary of the Federation, Mr Adamu Maikano and the Chairman Media and Publicity Committee, Mr. Kehinde Lamidi and made available to newsmen in Kaduna Thursday said the final list approved by the Chairman of Technical Committee include Ladi Jalmat, Theresa Okonma, Helen Umeh, Aisha Umar, Chinasa Nwosu, Esther Dusu, Albertina Francis and Kelechi. Others are Agera Priscilla, Comfort Amdu, Francisca Ikhiede, Chimdia I’ve, Mary John and Chinedu  Nnachi.

The coaches that would accompany the team are Usman Abdallah as Head Coach and Gloria Peter Ret.

Others expected to make the entourage are the NVBF scribe, Adamu Maikano, the Chairman of the Technical, Martin Melandi and an accompanying referee, Olalekan Moses.

The tournament is expected to hold between August 18th and 22nd in Abidjan.
