The Provost, Federal College of Horticulture Dadin-Kowa Gombe State, Professor Fatima Sawa has commended Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) for fairness and equitable distribution of E- Learning Computers to institutions across the country.
Professor Sawa who gave the recommendation in her speech during her visit to the Commission in Abuja and received by the Director of Project, Mrs. Iyabo Sholanke said what NCC has done to schools has transformed and make it more visible.
Professor Fatima Sawa opined that the College was at the NCC to show the Commission their gratitude for given the College computer laboratory, solar energy, and E-pad learning facilities.
According to her, what NCC is doing has transformed the learning capacity in the college, adding that most of the academic staff are now E-compliance because the school have E-learning, computer laboratory to facilitate its learning and teaching.
The Provost said they are also at the Commission to request for computer base testing centre, laptops for teaching staff and training, saying with the expansion of the College, the school need more to sustain the development.
Responding, the Director of Project at the Commission, Mrs. Iyabo Sholanke lamented that as the world is technologically based, Nigeria cannot be left behind and called on all and sundry to ensure they are evolve in ICT skills.
The Director said the Commission has realized that there is gap in the ICT in the country which is why the Commission supply schools with computers and build computer base testing centers.
She stressed that to address the gap; the Commission will continue to intervene to ensure that schools and hospitals have computers, while the teachers are ICT literate.
