1 Brigade Sokoto commissions remodel Army Guest House   ………GOC 1 DIV charge troops to ensure maintenance of facility occupy

The General Officer Commanding, 1 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade has charged the troops of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army to always ensure maintenance of facility occupied to avail them comfort and convenience.

In a press statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna Sunday by the Brigade Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Major Clement Abiade said the General Officer Commanding gave the charge in his address during the commissioning of a newly remodeled of the dilapidated Nigerian Army Guest House in Sokoto State.

Major General Oyebade who is the Guest of Honor, was of the opinion that the maintenance would be made easy if it is dealt with promptly as soon as it is noticed.

He conveyed his inclination at the efforts made through the intervention of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai in bringing to life the hitherto dilapidated and abandoned facility to productive use again.

The General Officer Commanding reiterated the hunger of the COAS for not only the professional development of the troops but also providing for their welfare within the available resources and also ensuring that the resources are provided not only for operational activities but also for troop’s welfare.

He commended the commitment of the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, Sokoto State Government and its people for their support to the Nigerian Army.

Earlier in his remarks, the Commander 1 Brigade, Brigadier General Ginikanwa Nwosu thanked the COAS for his gesture in ensuring that the story of recovery and remodeling of the new Nigerian Army Guest House was a huge success for the benefit of officers and guests of the Nigerian Army.

Brigadier General Nwosu recalled how the structure was abandoned for years, use as public toilet and safe haven for addict and mentally challenged individuals.

The occasion was graced by dignitaries in and out of the military, including the President and Founder of SG Adiya Farms Ltd, Dr. Abdullahi Adiya, other distinguished invited guests, officers, soldiers and Corps members.
