Faith Academy to Engage 40 Schools in School Sports Festival, Says Committee Chairman

The Management of Faith Academy has assured its readiness to engage 40 schools in her maiden edition of the Secondary Schools Sports Festival, billed to commence in Kaduna June 22.

Briefing Journalists during a Press Conference held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, North-West, Nigeria on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Faith Academy Sports Committee, Mr. Nden Emmanuel said the sports festival is aimed at giving back to the society and also to discover talents.

According to him, the event is in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Kaduna State chapter.

“The event is going to be a two-day sporting event and it is going to feature track and field events, racket games and board games.

“ We are doing this because sports is a vital tool for development of young people.

“The event to take place Friday 22 and Saturday 23 June 2018. We have started putting logistics in place”, he said.

In his remark, the Director School Sports Kaduna State, Mr. Abel Yakubu informed that the state government has plans to host a similar competition in the future.

“We also have similar programme on ground in collaboration with the Sports Ministry and the programme is expected to be scheduled by July or August” Mr. Abel stressed.

However, the representative of the Director Sports Kaduna State, Mr. Samaila Usman lauded Faith Academy for the initiative, assuring that the state government will always key into such noble projects.

“Kaduna is always willing to support any group that is hosting any event. We will support Faith Academy in this event” he added.
