The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle has announced the graduation of 800 elite Special Operations Forces (SOF) at Camp Kabala, Jaji, Kaduna.
According to Echi Ochanya Kate, the Principal Superintendent of Press (PSP) For: Director Information and Public Relations, the milestone represents a significant advancement in the Federal Government’s commitment to combating insecurity in Nigeria.
He mentioned that the SOF training is part of the Federal Government’s strategic commitment to modernize the Armed Forces, incorporating specialized training, state-of-the-art equipment, and integrated intelligence systems.
Matawalle affirmed that the graduates would be deployed to high-risk areas, including Zamfara, Kaduna, and the North-East, to combat terror, banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency.
He emphasized that the SOF’s mission is not one of conquest, but of peace, urging them to operate with precision, fight with courage, lead with honor, and protect with humanity.
the Minister opined that the government is committed to building a modern, professional, and highly motivated military capable of addressing contemporary threats with precision and confidence.
in his address, the Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, commended the dedication and resilience displayed by both the trainees and their instructors.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, urged the graduates to uphold the highest standards of discipline and ethics, protecting the innocent and upholding the laws of the land.
