Hon. Jennifer Ozeoma, a determined aspirant vying for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairmanship position under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared her intention to unseat incumbent Chairman Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.
This is in a bold move to emerged as the party’s flag bearer after beating 22 male aspirants who purchased the chairmanship forms.
Speaking to journalists at the APC National Secretariat Shortly after purchasing the Expression of, Interest and Nomination Forms Hon. Ozeoma exuded confidence, attributing her success to divine favor.
“You people said, “What a man can do, a woman can equally do it better,” and you know, we are good managers. When you give a woman a house, she is going to make it a home. So, I am here to make a home for AMAC”.
“By the special grace of God, I don’t think there will be any challenge,” she said, adding that she had planned meticulously for the election.
Citing the example of Esther Anazodo, a former AMAC chairperson who achieved great things, Hon. Ozeoma expressed her determination to build on Anazodo’s legacy.
“We have planned. Our people have sent me to study about AMAC. I want to start from where she stopped because I know and believe that I can do it better,” she said.
Hon. Ozeoma emphasized women’s capabilities, saying, “When you give a woman a house, she is going to make it a home. So, I am here to make a home for AMAC.”
She also promised to provide free medical services for pregnant women in AMAC if elected.
With the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having announced the FCT Area Council elections for February 21, 2026, Hon. Ozeoma’s determination and confidence have set the stage for a potentially intense contest.
