One of the candidate, contesting for the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Almustapha Saliu has affirmed that his aspiration is to meet up with the millennium and global challenges of advanced politics into the 2023 General Election and beyond.

Senator Saliu added that his ambition is also to do Progressive, smart and proactive politics to add value in many areas.

He made this known at the APC National headquarters Abuja on Friday while speaking with journalists shortly after submitting his expression of interest form which election is holding in Abuja next Saturday, 26 March, 2022.

Senator Saliu maintained thate the APC under his watch as National Chairman would give leading roles to women and youth in the party as well as in government so that the marginalized groups could contribute their quotas to national development

“Saliu Mustapha’s aspiration in this contest is to serve. This is not about title, but it is coming to add value, serving the party, and moving the party forward.

“To meet up with the millennium and global challenges of advanced politics. That is why for us in this team, we want to come and do Progressive and smart politics and proactive politics. We want to add value in many areas.

“First we want to ensure as leaders of this party we carry everyone along, we want to also make sure we guarantee level playing ground. We guarantee internal democracy because ones you fail to have that in your party that is the beginning of problems for you. We want to ensure every APC card carrying member that we will create a level playing ground.

“Secondly, we will promote some deliberate policies if given the leadership of the party that will ensure that leaders who have paid their dues are well rewarded.

“Three, we will also ensure that we adhere to our party manifestoe. We started but later deviated, we want to make sure as a party we deliver on our promises in the manifestoes.

“These we will also ensure that we adhere to our party manifestoe. We started but later deviated, we want to make sure as a party we deliver on our promises in the manifestoes.

“Fourth is party discipline. When you lack discipline then you are bound to have confusion all over. We want to make sure if given the opportunity to lead this party there will be party supremacy. Not supremacy to dictate certain rules and conditions for the party.

“Not when you lose, you become a bad loser. We want to make sure we work together as a team. We want to promote certain values in this party by establishing a progressive institute whereby we will be there to brainstorm ideas for the party on how to move the party forward.

“On how to help the government in place to promote certain objectives. We also want to ensure if given the leadership of the party to put in place policies to give our youths and women sense of inclusiveness. That is what we are lacking.

“We want to ensure that we start including youth and women in certain positions as deputies so that we can mentor them in to position of responsibility. We also want to give the less privilege or the physically challenged people will be given certain quota so no one will deny them the opportunity to participate.

We believe in value addition, and with the past record as deputy national chairman of the the legacy party CPC, we led the party through the high and low. Again, in terms of fund generation we are tired of seating back and waiting for money bags to finance the party.

“We will bring innovative ways of generating funds. It is very easy to generate funds: by membership card which will give everybody a sense of belonging. Also, by bringing a certain levy to everyone who enjoys the patronage of this party to be paid either quarterly or yearly.

“We have a lot we believe we can add and we have a lot we can bring into the party to move the party forward. We are building a digital party, we will try to harness the abilities of the youths and women. 60 to 70 percent of total vote cast in every election is usually from these youth and women demographics. If given that opportunity, we will be the bridge builder between the old and young based on my age.

So, we are appealing to the whole party members, aspirants and leaders to endorse us. For us it is not a contest of title but a contest of new ideas. Endorse a smart and energetic young politician that can bring new ideas and plans into the party” Sen Salisu narrated.
