APC holds 5-Man Delegates, Councillorship Primary in Ebonyi

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State chapter have conducted its 5 – Man Delegates Congress and Councillorship Primary Elections across the 13 local government areas of the State.

Hon. Obinna Mbam Goodluck, who is the local government returning officer, conducted the Congress at Ekpaomaka ward, and NWANCHO JAMES OGBONNAYA was declared the winner with 539 Votes, against Hon. NWUKWU STEPHEN OGBONNAYA, who is the local government current legislative leader.

In Ndufu Amegu Ward 1, Nwanchor Maduabuchi scored a total vote of 992, while Echem James scored 609 votes.

In Ndufu Amagu ward 11, Nwekoyo Emeka scored 494 votes, and Nwafor Ejike scored 53 votes.

The Congress started with the distribution of the electoral materials at the party office at about 8.00 am on Friday.

Correspondent reports that the party adopted option A4 for the elections as the election went smoothly in the 21 political wards in Ikwo.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly while monitoring the elections described the exercise as peaceful and urged the people to maintain peace.

He said anyone who attempts to bring crisis in the election will be blacklisted from the party in the council.

Odunwa emphasised that a Councillor must be a person genuinely and generally accepted by his people and who will be resident in the community to serve them well and not an urban gorilla.

Hon. Chinedu Ogah, the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency commended the electorates for coming out en-mass to vote for the candidates of their choice.

Hon. Ogah emphasised that the electorate should be allowed to elect their leaders and commended APC and the State Governor Francis Nwifuru for giving the people the freedom to elect candidates of their choice in the election.
