The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has delivered victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his polling unit during the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency by-election in Jigawa State.
Contrary to reports circulating online that the Minister lost at his polling unit, official results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed that the APC won at Babura Kofar Arewa Primary School, Polling Unit 002, where Badaru cast his vote.
According to the Returning Officer’s announcement, the APC secured 188 votes against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which polled 164 votes.
Badaru’s media office dismissed the earlier reports as false and misleading, noting that they wrongly identified the Minister’s polling unit as PU 001.
The statement urged the public, party members, and the media to rely strictly on INEC’s official results rather than unverified claims.
