… As Tuggar Praises China for building a 21st-century nation in Nigeria

China has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with Nigeria, with Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Hu Chunhua expressing readiness to collaborate with Nigeria.
This comes after Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nigerian President Ahmed Bola Tinubu elevated their countries’ relationship to a Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) Trade Agreement Strategic Partnership during the Beijing Summit last September.
CPPCC Vice Chairman who gave the affirmation in his opening address during his visit to the Nigeria Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar in Abuja informed that these developments demonstrate the growing cooperation between China and Nigeria, with a focus on economic development, regional stability, and mutual support.
According to him, China is looking forward to working with Nigeria to promote the friendship and cooperation between the two sides.
Hu Chunhua expressed his delight to visit Nigeria and also convey the Chinese Vice President Mr. Han Zheng’s best wishes and warm greetings to the Vice President Kashim Shettima Mustapha.
According to him, Chinese Foreign Minister has long been committed to the friendship between China and Nigeria.
“China stands ready to work with Nigeria to fully implement the important consensus reached by the two presidents and also the outcome of the Beijing Summit to move ahead of the China-Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
“Mr. Foreign Minister has long been committed to the friendship between China and Nigeria. Last June, you visited China and co-hosted the China-Nigeria Intergovernmental Committee.
“And last year September, you accompanied President Tinubu and visited China, and this January, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi paid a visit to Nigeria and had a meeting with the Foreign Minister and has reached extensive common understanding.
“And China is looking forward to working with Nigeria to promote the friendship and cooperation between our two sides” Hu Chunhua opined.
In his speech, the Nigeria Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar thanked His Excellency, Hu Chunhua and his delegation for visiting, ascertaining that Nigeria is aware of the importance of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) Trade Agreement and the concept of United Frontiers organization in China.
Amb. Tuggar mentioned that the visits and engagements between the two nations are very important, noting that it is through such contact and engagement that both Nations would reify the elevation of relationship.
The Nigeria MFA congratulated China on actualizing its infrastructure development, increasing trade and investment, and building a 21st century nation in Nigeria.
Amb. Tuggar promised to make more efforts to promote and develop the relations and its commitment to the One China Principle.
He commended China for recognizing Nigeria’s leadership in West Africa, within the whole of the economic community of West African states, and on the African continent as a whole.
“The Chairman of the TPPC is one of the Standing Committees of the Politburo of China. Therefore, we are very grateful that you took the time to visit Nigeria.
“These visits and engagements between our two nations are very important. Because it is through such contact and engagement that we will reify the elevation of our relationship.
“We congratulate China for successfully holding the TPPC, And we thank you for the continued partnership between China and the United Frontiers.
“We also congratulate China on actualizing its infrastructure development, increasing trade and investment, and building a 21st century nation in Nigeria and for its long-standing cooperation with Nigeria.
“We should make more efforts to promote and develop these relations. We want to continue to assure you of our commitment to the One China Principle.
“At the same time, we want to thank you and commend you for recognizing Nigeria’s leadership in West Africa, within the whole of the economic community of West African states, and on the African continent as a whole.
“Although it is evident that we are not as large demographically as China, we are the largest country on the continent. And like China, we pay close attention and importance to consultation, consulting people and deliberation in the exigencies of governance and leadership.
“So, we recognize the work that you are doing, and we are sure that this is something that we also need in our country to ensure that a largely demographic nation like Nigeria, a diverse one, can choose to have its own populace” he said.
Chinese Delegations in attendance at the meeting are Mr. Hu Chunhua, Head of the Chinese delegation and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, Mr. Zhang Yi, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria.
Others include: Mr. Zhou Bo, member of the CPPCC National Committee and the Liaoning Provincial Committee Chairman, Mr. Hu Henglu, member and Deputy Secretary General of the CPPCC National Committee, Mr. Lin Songtian, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC, Mr. Song Hailiang, member of the CPPCC National Committee, Chairman of the Board of China Energy Engineering Corporation among others.
