Building Credible Elections: INEC Trains Field Agents for Voter Register Assessment

The Electoral Institute (TEI) on behalf of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has organized a Methodology Workshop for Field Agents and Local Guides at La Luna Hotel, Awka, Anambra State.

The workshop aimed to equip participants with the requisite skills and knowledge to carry out a comprehensive Voter Register Assessment (VRA) in preparation for the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship Election.

In his address at the At the Metrology Workshop Training of Field Agents for VRA on the CVR Exercise for 2025 Anambra Off Cycle Governorships eElection , the Acting Director General, Electoral Institute (TEI), Professor Ibrahim Sani, Informed that the workshop is designed to provide empirical evidence for precise strategic interventions to enhance the reliability of the Register of Voters.

He maintained that the VRA is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and credibility of the electoral process.

Also speaking, the Chairman BEI through Hon. REC, Anambra State, Dr. Queen Elizabeth Affirmed that INEC is preparing adequately for the November 8, 2025, Anambra off-cycle election, including the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in the 326 Registration Areas (RAs) in Anambra State.

Anambra REC charged the Participants to conduct the survey with the highest sense of integrity, credibility, and transparency.

The REC challenged the Participants to operate independently and with dedication, avoiding sharing information with unauthorized persons.

The REC therefore emphasized that whatever participants say or do on the field can either contribute to building or destroying Nigeria, and should be mindful of their actions.
