The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended warm congratulations to the Government and people of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on the occasion of their Independence Anniversary.
According to Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Spokesperson,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday, Nigeria celebrates the historic milestone with the DRC, acknowledging the resilience, courage, and determination of the Congolese people in their pursuit of sovereignty, peace, and prosperity.
The statement informed that Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the DRC, particularly in areas of mutual interest such as:
– Trade
– Security
– Sustainable development
Nigeria called for continued regional and international collaboration to address challenges facing the DRC, including security and humanitarian concerns.
The country commends the efforts of the Congolese government in fostering national unity and development.
The Government and people of Nigeria wish the Government and people of the DRC a peaceful and prosperous Independence Anniversary celebration, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to supporting the DRC’s efforts towards lasting peace, democratic governance, and socio-economic progress.
