The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai has visited soldiers on hospital admission at 7 Division Hospital and Medical Services, Maimalari military cantonment who are victims of boko haram as part of routine visit to troops at Operation LAFIYA DOLE.
In a statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General SK Usman at 112 Task Force Battalion, Mafa in Maiduguri, Borno State, North-West, Nigeria and was made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday, disclosed that the visit is to celebrate Sallah festival with the troops and to give them a sense of belonging.
According to him, the tour is also an avenue to interact with the troops, know their activities, what they are lacking, their problems and how to help them as he understand their pains.
Represented by the Chief of Training and Operations (CTOP), Major General David Duwandi Ahmadu, the Chief of Staff who also had dinner party with the troops at Maimalari military was received by the Commander 22 Brigade, Brigadier General Suleiman Idris.
After inspection of the Quarter Guard, the statement added that General TY Buratai was introduced to the officers of the unit and Mafa Divisional Police Officer, Mr. NS Gaya and was briefed by the Commanding Officer 112 Task Force Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel SBN Egbulem on the unit’s activities in its area of responsibility.
Accompanied the representative of the Chief of Army Staff was by the Theatre Commander Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru and the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf and the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General SK Usman, and some Commanders and staff officers at both Theatre Command and Headquarters 7 Division, Nigerian Army which is also Sector 1 Operation LAFIYA DOLE.
