Dalori Assumes APC Helm, Vows to Unite Party Behind Tinubu’s Agenda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally appointed Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori as its Acting National Chairman, following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Dalori’s appointment was made in accordance with the APC constitution and was ratified by the National Working Committee (NWC) during a special meeting in Abuja.

In his maiden speech in Abuja on Monday, Dalori emphasized the need for unity, transparency, and inclusive leadership during the transitional period.

He commended Ganduje’s contributions and acknowledged his experienced leadership in August 2023. Dalori also reaffirmed the APC’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and expressed full support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dalori outlined key focus areas for the party, which including:

– Consolidating internal cohesion and strengthening grassroots structures.

– Enforcing party discipline and avoiding divisive rhetoric.

– Supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

– Unveiling a comprehensive roadmap to guide NWC activities.

The Acting Chairman promised to soon share a practical roadmap with NWC members, focusing on party discipline, reconciliation, communication, mobilisation, and stakeholder engagement.

He concluded with a call for unity and renewed commitment, urging party members to work together towards a brighter future.

Dalori’s emergence as Acting National Chairman marks a new chapter for the APC as it navigates internal adjustments and positions itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The transition was officially announced during the first meeting of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) where the party’s National Secretary, Senator Suraj Ajibola, presented Ganduje’s resignation letter and moved a motion for Dalori’s appointment in line with Article 14 of the APC Constitution.

“In accordance with our constitution, the Deputy National Chairman, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, shall assume the role of Acting National Chairman pending the appointment of a substantive chairman by the National Executive Committee,” Senator Ajibola stated. The motion was duly moved and seconded by NWC members”.
