Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have dealt another crushing blow to terrorists in the North East, killing scores in coordinated dawn offensives, overrunning key enclaves and maintaining firm control despite a fierce, drone-backed counterattack by insurgents.

In a decisive early-morning operation on January 28, 2026, troops of Joint Task Force (North East), Sector 1, launched a night-dawn surprise assault on terrorist positions at Bula Dalo.

The precision strike caught the insurgents off guard, leading to the neutralisation of more than 12 terrorists, while surviving fighters fled in disarray.

Military sources confirmed that the troops overran the enclave and recovered a cache of deadly weapons, including four AK-47 rifles, a PKT anti-aircraft gun, a Rocket Propelled Grenade launcher and a multiple grenade launcher further degrading the terrorists’ firepower and mobility in the area.

Buoyed by the success, the troops followed up with a deliberate clearance operation at the notorious Garno terrorist camp.

In the encounter, six additional terrorists were neutralised, their life-support structures destroyed, and a large quantity of PKT anti-aircraft ammunition recovered, effectively dismantling another hub of insurgent logistics and coordination.

The momentum of the offensive underscored the sustained pressure being mounted by Operation HADIN KAI to deny terrorists freedom of action across the North East.

However, in a related development, troops of Sector 2 OPHK at Sabon Gari came under a determined ISWAP assault in the early hours of January 29.

The attack was backed by multiple armed drones, marking yet another attempt by the terrorists to test military defences and regain lost ground.

Although the insurgents briefly breached a section of the defensive position, gallant troops held their ground under intense pressure.

With swift counteraction and timely reinforcement from nearby locations, the soldiers repelled the attackers and fully restored control of the area.

In the course of the battle, some brave soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force paid the supreme price while defending the location.

An excavator and a lowbed vehicle were also damaged during the drone attack.

Military authorities said exploitation of the area is ongoing, as troops continue clearance operations to track fleeing elements and prevent any regrouping by the terrorists.

Commending the troops, the Military High Command hailed their gallantry, resilience and professionalism, urging them to remain vigilant and aggressive in confronting terrorist threats.

The latest operations reaffirm the resolve of the Armed Forces to sustain offensive pressure, dominate key terrain and steadily roll back insurgent influence across the North East.
