The battle lines for 2027 are being drawn early in Delta State and the message from Agbor on Monday was blunt: unity, mobilisation and structure will decide the future.

Former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, CON, have rallied party leaders and grassroots members to close ranks behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, declaring that the moment demands discipline, mass participation and strategic alignment.

The call was issued at a high-powered Ika Federal Constituency Leaders and Stakeholders Meeting in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, convened to brief party members on the ongoing APC electronic registration (e-registration) exercise, a process party leaders say will determine who belongs, who leads and who contests in the coming political cycle.

But beyond registration, the meeting marked something deeper: the consolidation of a political realignment that began in April 2025, when Delta’s political structure tilted decisively into the APC column.

Addressing party leaders, Morka described the gathering as more than a routine stakeholders’ meeting.

“This is the first time we are coming together since April 2025 — a day that changed Delta’s political history,” he said.

According to him, Governor Oborevwori’s decision to move the full structure of the former ruling party in the state into the APC was a “political earthquake” that reset alignments not only in Delta but across the South-South.

“The courage it took to do that is not lost on the President, the party leadership or the nation,” Morka said.

At the centre of the meeting was a stark warning: January 31, 2026, is the final deadline for APC e-registration.

Failure to comply, Morka warned, carries real consequences.

“You cannot vote. You cannot be voted for,” he said. “You will not participate in ward, local government, state or national congresses.”

He described the e-registration exercise as the gateway to the party’s internal democracy, adding that the forthcoming congresses would usher in a new leadership structure at all levels.

“This process is simple, guided and urgent,” he stressed, urging leaders to return to their wards and villages to mobilise mass registration.

Morka made it clear that the APC’s strategy ahead of 2027 would be built from the bottom up.

“As leaders, we must strengthen the party from the grassroots,” he said.

“This is not a time for suspicion, internal anxiety or petty divisions.”

He said President Tinubu expects “shoulder-to-shoulder solidarity” from party members as the administration pushes through difficult economic and governance reforms under its Renewed Hope agenda.

The APC spokesman praised President Tinubu for what he described as uncommon political courage.

“Mr. President confronted challenges that previous administrations avoided,” Morka said. “He dismantled long-standing obstacles that held the economy hostage.”

According to him, those decisions though tough require unwavering support from party faithful if Nigeria is to stabilise and grow.

“These are historic steps,” he said. “They demand loyalty, patience and unity.”

Former Governor Okowa, speaking to party leaders, said the turnout and calibre of stakeholders present should erase any lingering doubts about the party’s strength in the constituency.

“If we resolve collectively and immediately to work together, we can dominate all 26 wards in Ika Federal Constituency,” Okowa said.

He noted that Ika South and Ika North East have historically delivered strong electoral outcomes, arguing that a unified APC platform would multiply that strength.

“Delta State is now a model,” he said. “Our Governor was the first to align openly and decisively with Mr. President. That decision has placed Delta at the centre of national political attention.”

Okowa warned that internal division would only weaken the party at a time when expectations are rising.

“Victory does not come by accident,” he said. “It comes through planning, discipline and collective execution.”

According to him, the political outcomes from Delta in 2027 would resonate far beyond the state.

“The results from Delta will speak loudly across Nigeria,” he said.

With top party figures, local government chairmen, federal appointees and grassroots leaders in attendance, Monday’s meeting signalled a transition from political shock to structured consolidation.

As the e-registration clock ticks down and internal congresses loom, the APC in Delta appears determined to convert its dramatic realignment into electoral machinery with Tinubu and Oborevwori positioned firmly at the centre of its 2027 calculus.
