The families of those who lost their lives in the Rafin Gabbas mining sites in Nasarawa State are anxiously awaiting the outcome of the police investigation.

The community members, who spoke to journalists in Abuja, expressed their determination to seek justice for their loved ones.

They plan to petition the Department of State Security Service, international communities, and relevant agencies to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

The community specifically wants the police to investigate the Chinese companies involved in the mining, as well as the security personnel guarding the sites, including Capital Apex Synergy Global Services Limited and Nizhong Mining Company Limited.

The villagers have expressed confidence in the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetukun, to conduct a thorough investigation. However, they warned that if the case is swept under the carpet, they will resort to protests and petitions to the National Assembly and the Presidency.

One of the community members, John Mark, emphasized the need for justice, while another member, Eshimutu Ode, called for the removal of the Mining Marshal Commander, ACC Attah John Onoja, citing the problems he has caused in the community.
