“In the handing over committees report after my assumption to duty, l realized the need to review the Corporate Governance system in the Institute to enthrone the principle of transparency, responsibility, accountability, fairness with due diligence.
“The Organizational structure of the Institute was also reviewed, thereby increasing the number of Research based Departments from four (4) to six (6).
“There is a major shift in the way NARICT handles environment prior to my assumption, companies were hired to take charge of cleaning the environment but presently there is an interface with the host community as youths are employed to clean the environment through Corporate Social Responsibility.
“This has brought synergy and mutual understanding between the Management and the host community so l appreciated the Coalition for her giant strides towards making Kaduna State and Nigeria greater.
He affirmed that this is to give effect to the required changes and that quite a number of other Committees was set up as an impetus to the idea of all-inclusiveness in the Management of the Institute.
On staff welfare, the Director stated that capacity building training has been carried out for staff of the Institute while appropriate placement and deployment of staff based on appropriate skills and competencies was undertaken during the period under review.
Professor Barminas commanded the President Muhammadu Buhari for the opportunity as the Director General of the Institute and called for Federal Governments support for adequate funding of Institute to give it internationally recognized in terms or research and qualitative service delivery.
