Hon Victor Nwoke, Member Representing Abakaliki North State constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party PDP.
The Lawmaker resigned from the party on Monday alongside his teaming supporters to the ruling All Progressives Congress in Abakaliki local government area of the state.
He gave the unresolved crisis in the opposition party both at the state and national levels as the reason for his resignation from the party to the APC.
According to him, PDP has two state party chairman in Ebonyi and if he continues to manage the crisis with the party, he will end up not providing dividends of democracy to the people who voted for him.
“There is a crisis in PDP both in the state and national as you can see the PDP national is owned by the FCT Minister so there is a problem. Even the case they were asked to withdraw from court is still there in the court and the state, we have two chairmen we have Augustine Nwazunku and Onyema Nwele.
There is crisis everywhere in the party which is why I decided to go to where there is peace so that I can be able to provide democratic dividends to the people I am representing.
“Note, the provision of the Nigeria constitution as amended stipulates that if the party that gives you a ticket is in crisis, you can join another party that has peace.
Stanley Emegha, Ebonyi State APC Chairman who received the Lawmaker info the party assured him of a level playing ground stressing that APC in the state aims to better the lives of the people and provide development.
