The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended warm greetings to Muslims and Nigerians on the occasion of Eid El Adha.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Friday by Alkasim Abdulkadir, the MFA Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy, the Minister described the festival as a time for reflection, sacrifice, and renewed faith, emphasizing the importance of emulating the virtues of obedience, resilience, and selflessness demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
He urged Muslim faithfuls to pray for peace and stability globally, particularly in troubled regions like Gaza, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Minister also expressed solidarity with internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nigeria and prayed for their lasting relief and restoration.
Ambassador Tuggar extended condolences to the people of Mokwa, Niger State, following the devastating floods of May 28, and called on Nigerians to support humanitarian efforts.
He acknowledged the sacrifice and courage of Nigeria’s frontline officers working for peace and security, reaffirming his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s interests globally through principled diplomacy.
As Nigerians mark this sacred festival, the Minister encouraged them to draw strength from its message and recommit to shared humanity, unity of purpose, and national renewal.
