The Secretary, Peoples Redemption Party, (PRP), Kaduna State Chapter, Barrister Shuaibu Yamusa has opined that the government of Kaduna state under Mallam Nasir El-Rufai launched anti-people policies detrimental to real and genuine economic development of the state.
According to him, in the three and a half years of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), under Governor El-Rufai, the people cannot point the dividends of democracy recorded in the state.
The Legal Practitioner made this known in a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalist, Kaduna State Council Secretariat on Wednesday, 5th of December, 2018 on the party’s preparation for 2019 general elections.
PRP Secretary accused Governor El-Rufai of running an exclusive government in the state, saying it is not a working government rather it’s a government of the few, by the few and for the few.
He said that despite the colossal amount of money allocated to the state from the federation account which to their estimation is more than N400 billion, as far as the issue of security, economic emancipation and social amenities in the state are nothing to write home about.
“Leadership is about people, their feelings and welfare, their security and economic freedom, it is not doctorial where opposition are maligned and persecuted; but an all embracing leader, not decisive.
“So many workers and traditional rulers in the state were unceremoniously and with no regards to due process relieved of their means of livelihood thereby suffocating the unemployment market” He said.
Barrister Yamusa disclosed that the PRP governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Umar, is a man of integrity, whose knowledge and experience would bring about genuine solution, development to the state and its people.
“PRP is presenting to the state a candidate that is all embracing and not divisive. A candidate that is known to be a humanitarian, a philanthropist, a renowned businessman, one who will have the feelings of people at heart, and not an all knowing governor.
“It is our conviction and that of many other citizens that the PRP candidate only has the skills and has also resolved to tackle the many burning issues of the state.
“This will be done by collective participation and fairness to all. It will be government of the people, by the people and for the people.
“We as a party are out to redeem the people from all that they are going through and to give them hope through a purposeful and all embracing government that will carry all along in all spheres of life.
“Our governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Umar, is a man that has the people at heart, he has proven himself in his relationship with the citizens of Kaduna state irrespective of their differences and given the mandate will definitely restore the fortunes the state was known during the PRP – administration in the early 80s.
“So, we are calling on Nigerians particularly the people of Kaduna State to vote wisely this time around in the coming 2019, elections. When we say people must vote wisely, we mean they must vote solutions to the problems bedeviling the state” Bar. Yamusa noted.
