Election Postponement: JDPC Encourages Nigerians Not to Lose Faith in INEC

The Co-ordinator, Development and Peace/Caritas (JDPC) Kaduna Archdiocese, Reverend Father Joshua Achir has encouraged all and sundry not to lose faith with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the postponement of Presidential elections or allowed their despair becloud them.

Reverend Father Joshua Achir stated this in a press statement issued on Saturday, 16th February, 2019 and made available to newsmen in Kaduna, North-West, Nigeria.

He called on Nigerians to stand up and ensure that their efforts are not in vain by securing their Permanent Voter’s Cards, avoid places and discussions with persons.

According to him, “the Presidential and National Assembly Elections will now hold 23rd February, 2019 while that of the Governorship and State Assembly will hold 9th March, 2019.

“I write to encourage all not to lose faith but take courage and not allow despair becloud us. Let us stand up and ensure that our efforts are not in vain.

“Let us secure our Permanent Voter’s Cards as well as we can. Let us avoid certain places and certain discussions with certain persons.

“Let us encourage our people, brothers and sisters, family and friends to come out and vote as rescheduled. Let us be patient and endure to the end. Let’s hope that come what may, the elections will hold as rescheduled” He stressed.
