High Chief Engineer Dr John Johnbosco Onunkwo has on Saturday cleared the APC Screening process, by the All Progressive Congress (APC) Screening/Appeal Committees for all Anambra State Governorship aspirants and the forthcoming direct primary election.
Speaking confidently to newsmen after the screening at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Engr. Johnbosco assured that if granted the party’s ticket, he will secure a frictionless victory in the Anambra election, citing his unique understanding of the state’s needs as the ‘password for 2027’.
As a renowned philanthropist and humanitarian, High Chief Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo has made a significant impact in Anambra State through his charitable foundation, which has supported education, healthcare, and community development initiatives.
His commitment to the welfare of the people has earned him numerous accolades and recognition, including the title of Aka Ekpuchi Onwa of Umuchu.”
According to him, Anambrayans is frustrated by the Soludo administration and is looking for an opportunity to be emancipated from the shackle of bondage which he is the key in doing so with the Party support.
He mentioned that if given the APC ticket to become the Governor, he would give the people support services, small scale businesses would improve, reduce a lot of taxations, making the people to also have the engine room of driving business, which is power while ensuring that an independent power plant is there.
Engr. Johnbosco opined that this is the time to allow an engineer to take over which he believed in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
“I am an engineer. I am advocating for this. This is the time to allow an engineer to take over. I am an engineer in this society. I believe in planning. I believe in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
“And I believe in using a simultaneous linear equation, an almighty formula to find two unknowns together. The engineer is the one that will do it. I am the one that will do it.
“If the party finds me worthy to give me that ticket, I can win the election frictionlessly. My election will not go to court. Because I will win it. I have people.
“I don’t need to campaign for them. I’ve been establishing memories with them. I’ve been keeping in touch with them. Whether it’s an election or no election.
Season and off-season. I am the one to beat. I am the one with the password.
“Being the oldest MP in APC Anambra structure, being the most supportive, with a lot of evidence which I showed the screening committee, I have done a lot for the party, and it has also made me dear to the people of Anambra State, because Anambrayans is electorally wise.
“I have done a lot for Anambra, through my philanthropic activities, through my support groups, and also a lot of dividends of democracy.
“I have given single-handedly, that has made me to be made the Grand Commander of Anambra Youths. I am the Grand Patron of Hanes and Limbo Youths worldwide, and I am the engine room. So a lot has been done, and the Anambrayans are looking for a change.
“I am asking for that opportunity to implant it. As the past president of Rotary Club of Papakos Central and award-winning president 2013-2014, I did a lot and became the best president out of 197 clubs in South-South-South-East. And as an engineer in oil and gas, in plant maintenance, in global maintenance service, in rotating equipment, where I plan and make sure that all the engines and machines are running at 98% availability.
“It requires planning. It requires ingenuity. And it requires a man with precision engineering. I am that man with precision engineering and I want to plant it in Anambra State.
“APC winning Anambra is very important. So that Anambrians will have that breath of fresh air. So that we are sure of our 2027. Because the South East must be connected to the centre. We must make that handshake across the Niger. And we need the party. And not people who will come and claim they love the party. Many of them don’t love our party. They cannot even fly the broom” he stressed.
When asked how he would feel, if he did not get the ticket, Engr Johnbosco affirmed that if it happened he did not get the ticket, as a party man he is, would help and support whoever emerges.
“I’m a party man. So if I happen not to win this one, which I know I will win,), but if I happen not to win because power is given by God, I will still help whoever emerges.
“I’ve never gone to any party, I don’t know how I will go to another party because, I’m a man of strength, uprightness, and my word is always my bond. So if I don’t get it, I will make sure that I support whoever gets it.
“My primary concern is to make sure that APC wins and Anambra state. Initially I was opting for direct primary because the whole APC Anambra number belongs to me. I am the one that’s been taking care of it. So with direct primary, it’s as good as all of us celebrating.
“The party has checked the pros and the cons. And they have decided that it will be a direct primary. Who am I to say otherwise? I will abide by it.” he ended.
