The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has raised the alarm over a fraudulent recruitment advert making the rounds on social media, warning Nigerians not to fall prey to criminal syndicates targeting unsuspecting job seekers.
The fake advert, traced to a bogus portal www.inecrecruitment.com falsely claims the Commission is recruiting nationwide for permanent positions.
“INEC is not recruiting. Do not fall victim to the antics of criminal elements.”
While distancing itself from the scam, the Commission announced that it has officially opened its verified recruitment portal, www.pres.inecnigeria.org, strictly for the engagement of ad-hoc staff ahead of the forthcoming Anambra Governorship Election.
The roles available include:
Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs)
Presiding Officers (POs)
Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II, III)
Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECHs)
Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers
Eligibility cuts across public servants, corps members, ICT professionals, and staff of host schools, all crucial to ensuring a transparent and credible election.
To curb exploitation and ensure clarity, INEC directed all prospective applicants to rely only on its official communication channels:
Call Centre: 0700-CALL-INEC (0700-2255-4632)
Email: pres@inec.gov.ng
Verified social media handles: @inecnigeria
Reaffirming its dedication to transparency, inclusivity, and electoral credibility, the Commission urged Nigerians to seize this opportunity to serve their nation while ignoring fake portals and fraudulent messages.
Participation, INEC stressed, is strictly limited to temporary ad-hoc positions required for the smooth conduct of the Anambra Governorship Election, nothing more.
