The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) have hailed the Federal Government’s commitment of $538 million to the first phase of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) programme, describing it as a strategic move to boost food security and create massive employment opportunities.
In a joint statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group noted that the programme, which includes a youth-driven 10-year strategic action plan, is poised to transform Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.
“The SAPZ is a flagship initiative of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at making food abundant, creating jobs for Nigerian youths, and revitalizing the agricultural sector,” the statement read.
TMV emphasized that the initiative is a well-structured response to pressing national concerns of hunger and unemployment, adding that it targets increased agricultural productivity, improved rural livelihoods, and accelerated agro-industrialization.
“There is no doubt that the federal government is using this programme to kill two birds with one stone, ensuring food security and engaging youths in meaningful economic ventures,” the group added.
The initiative, TMV said, also aligns with global development goals, particularly the United Nations’ agenda to unlock financing and investment to accelerate food systems transformation worldwide.
The group commended the Tinubu administration for its bold steps in addressing critical national issues through impactful and forward-thinking programmes.
