As Nigeria closes the chapter on a turbulent year, the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has projected a calmer, more prosperous national outlook for 2026, anchoring its optimism on peace, prayer and policy stability.

In a New Year message issued in Abuja on December 31, 2025, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, declared that Nigeria is on the brink of a positive national turnaround, saying the country will witness peace and prosperity in the coming year.

According to Adegbite, the New Year represents more than a change of calendar; it signals a moment of renewal for the nation.

He expressed confidence that “the Lord will do a new thing for Nigeria,” adding that the transformation would be visible and widely celebrated.

Peace, he stressed, remains the non-negotiable foundation for economic growth and national development.

“Without peace, there will never be meaningful development,” the NCPC boss said, describing stability as the key that unlocks prosperity.

With notable conviction, he declared that Nigeria’s journey would be “forward ever, backward never,” a phrase that framed his message as both prophetic and directional.

Adegbite also called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration, urging sustained prayers and public support for the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is designed to deliver tangible benefits to citizens.

In a symbolic gesture underscoring the Commission’s message, Adegbite disclosed that the first batch of Nigerian Christian pilgrims is already in the Holy Land, praying specifically for Nigeria’s peace, unity and economic revival.

He described the prayers as timely and strategic, noting that national progress requires both leadership action and collective spiritual commitment.

The Executive Secretary extended New Year goodwill to President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Nigerians at home and abroad, wishing the country a peaceful and prosperous 2026.

The statement, signed by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations at the NCPC, positions the Commission as both a spiritual stakeholder and a vocal supporter of national stability at a time when Nigerians are searching for reassurance and direction.

As 2026 dawns, the NCPC’s message is clear: peace is the strategy, prosperity is the goal, and the New Year must mark a decisive shift in Nigeria’s national story.
