Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has disclosed the major reason he defected from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In an Exclusive Interview with NASS New Online Forum on Wednesday in Abuja, Imasuen cited Governor Monday Okpebholo’s good works in Edo State as the primary reason for his decision.
The Lawmaker who was elected to the 10th Senate on the LP platform, expressed admiration for Governor Okpebholo’s achievements in the state.
He stated, “Having seen the kind of work that he has been able to do in this short period of time, it’s an incentive to go and work and collaborate with him for the betterment of Edo people” he said.
Sen. Imasuen emphasized that working with Governor Okpebholo will bring benefits to the people of Edo State, which is the overriding interest of every Edo indigene.
He noted that decision-making has become smoother now that he joined the APC, making it easier to achieve his agenda of representing his people better.
The Senate formally announced Imasuen’s defection during a plenary session, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio assuring him that his efforts would not be in vain under the APC banner.
Sen.Imasuen’s decision marks a new chapter in his political career, as he seeks to collaborate with Governor Okpebholo to drive development in Edo State.
