The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State Sector Command, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, has said that the corps is gearing up for Easter Special Patrol in the State.
The State FRSC Boss who spoke with our correspondent in his office in Awka, stated that the corps usually anticipated an increase in both human and vehicular movements during every festive period and according to him special patrols are designed for those periods for effective traffic management.
Mr. Irelewuyi said that the Command was already making plans for the upsurge as it was during the 2021 Christmas and New Year festivities to enable the corps to brace up for the challenges characteristic of the period.
He added that the overall aim was to ensure free flow of traffic, reduce road traffic crashes and also arrange for prompt attention for victims of road traffic crashes.
The Sector Command who said that the Easter season was already around the corner, admonished motorists in Anambra State to guard against overspeeding, saying that inasmuch as speed thrills, it also kills.
The State FRSC Boss said FRSC had been engaging drivers at the motor parks telling them the advantages of maintaining speed limits to stay alive for their families and loved ones, that the corps had equally intensified enforcement on the installation of speed-limiting devices in all commercial vehicles.
