Girl-Child Education: Gov. El-Rufai Renovates 7 Schools in Southern Kaduna – Ministry

In his quest in ensuring a conducive environment for Girl-Child Education to excel in the state, Governor Nasir El-Rufai is renovating a total of seven schools as well as providing additional structures.

The Deputy Director Projects, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Abdu Aliyu Bisallah disclosed this at the Government Girls Secondary School, Zonkwa, Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone to Kaduna-Based Journalists on Developmental Projects Monitoring Tour on road projects, health and education executed by the State Government.

According to Alhaji Abdu Aliyu Bisallah, total renovation of the schools is taking place in two phases, saying phase one covers classrooms, laboratory, store, while phase two covers administration block, staff quarters, fencing and more staff quarters.

Alhaji Bisallah explained that they are hoping to round up the project by next month which phase one costed two-hundred million naira and phase two two-hundred-and-one million naira each.

He stressed that total of sixteen schools in the State are benefiting from the renovations.

When visited Kachia Local Government, the Agwom Adara, Maiwada Galadima confirmed that the State Government led by Governor Nasir El-Rufai is transforming Kachia into an urban area with the projects being executed in the area.

When the team paid him a courtesy call shortly after monitoring the project in his Palace, Paramount Ruler commended the initiative of the government and the journalists for deeming it fit to visit him, while charging them to always remain objectives in their reports.

“We are happy that Kachia is gradually being transformed into an urban area with the projects being executed in the area.

“I want to appreciate your initiative of identifying with the traditional institution, that is why you here.

“I want to say based on your profession, we have confidence in journalists, if reports are distorted, we won’t know the truth.

“Maybe some of you, this is your first time, I wish you a peaceful stay. Engineer will take you round”Agwom Adara said.

Earlier, Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna Council, Mallam Dauda Idris Doka who led the team said the team coming to Kachia was a blessing, adding that since the start of the tour, the team had not been granted audience by any traditional ruler.

Commenting on the nature of the project, Project Co-ordinator Surveyor, Marcus Saleh informed that the Company is handling ten kilometers road in Sanga, six kilometers bypass and four kilometers township roads which are surface dressed on a concept of retainer-ship.

He also disclosed that in Kafanchan, they are constructing fifteen kilometers township roads, pointing out that the time frame for completion will be determined by the onset of the rainy season.
