The Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Bello Matawalle has submitted his Expression lnterest and Nomination form for rerun under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Matawalle led the State and Federal Lawmaker candidates to submit their forms collectively at the APC heaquarters Abuja on Friday.
Governor Matawalle while answering questions from journalists noted that they submitted their forms together to prevent a repeat of the 2019 scenerio in Zamfara where the party lost all elective offices from gubernatorial to the state houses of assembly seats due to invalidly conducted primaries in the state.
“As you can see we are here today to submit our nomination forms from the governorship, senate, house of representatives and state assembly all from Zamfara state candidates
“This is to prevent a repeat of the 2019 scenerio in Zamfara where the party lost all elective offices from gubernatorial to the state houses of assembly seats due to invalidly conducted primaries in the state.
“You see me here with lots of prominent people from Zamfara state, our formal governor Ahmed Sani Yerima, minister of humanitarian affairs, some of the senators from the national assembly, members of the house of representatives and all houses of assembly candidates from Zamfara state have come here to submit our forms which we have come to do so jointly to the organizing secretary of the party” he noted.
Speaking on the mode of primary to be adopted in the State, the Governor informed that the party would decide the type of primary to go for in Nigeria and not just only my state.
