A Non-Governmental Organization, Peace Security, Unity and Progress (PSU&P) has pledged to compliment the efforts of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to arrest and prosecute drugs peddlers in the community.

The Chairman of the PSU&P, Hausa Community in Bogobiri Street, Calabar, Cross River State, Alhaji Ya’u Isma’il Girei who stated this in his speech delivered during the visit to the NDLEA Headquarters, Calabar said PSU&P was designed to expose anarchic members of the community to the law enforcement agency for the law to take its course.

He mentioned that their visit to NDLEA Command is to compliment the Command’s effort to arrest and prosecute drugs peddlers but due to the challenges of man power and logistics they are facing, the Organization would be assisting the Command by giving prompt and timely information.

Response, the Cross River State NDLEA Commander, Madam Tonia Edeh thanked the PSU&P for taking a proactive action towards its community members who engage in drugs.

“How I wish other community members would emulate the action of Hausa community, PSU&P while promising to render assistance requested by the committee” she said..
