Ifite-Aguleri, Igboezunu-Aguleri and Ugwunadagbe-Aguleri, the tripod upon which Aguleri community stands have unanimously decided to foster peace within the villages and their neighbours for rapid development and harmonious relations.
That was the bedrock and hallmark of the speech the Traditional Ruler of Aguleri community, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Michael Chukwuneme Idigo, delivered at St. Mary Catholic Church Aguleri Anambra-East Local Government Area of Anambra State while addressing his subjects from the aforementioned three sub-communities in the council area.
The need to embrace peace was the crux of the matter as the monarch explained that his reign would unite the entire Aguleri community as well as ensure that every part of the community including those across the Omambala River got its fair share of government presence as it concerns hospitals, schools, roads and other social amenities and infrastructures.
Igwe Idigo said he had toured the villages to have face-to-face interactions as well as familiarize himself with them so that together they would enthrone lasting peace in Aguleri community.
He said the essence of the meeting was to present himself to the people as well as solicit their support and cooperation to enable him to administer the community properly, stressing that his principal objective was to make Aguleri community first among equals in Anambra State and beyond.
The Traditional Ruler told the people that without peace, they would not achieve meaningful progress, adding that there was need for them to function as one indivisible whole so as to take the community to the next positive level.
He also admonished youths to shun violence as well as jettison thoughts and actions that could plunge them into drug abuse and addiction even though he pointed out that under his kingship, efforts would be made to ensure all forms of social vices were eliminated from Aguleri community.
Eze Aguleri maintained that he would bring kingship and leadership down to the people and incorporate them into the royal dynasty.
Though he mentioned that Aguleri community lacked standard hospitals, schools and some others, he assured his people that in no distant time all the pressing needs of the community would be tackled head-on because according to him, the State Governor Chief Willie Obiano who hails from Aguleri too was committed to making Aguleri a wonder land through the institution of infrastructures to aid life and living in the area.
A cabinet member of Aguleri traditional institution and commissioner for works who is also a native of Igboezunu-Aguleri, Engr. Marcel Ifejiofor, noted that the traditional ruler started his obligations on a very sound footing by preaching peaceful coexistence among the people of Aguleri community and beyond.
The Commissioner equally suggested that Igwe Idigo should pursue practical infrastructural development as well as dissuade youths from hard drugs and other substance abuse.
Furthermore, the President-General Aguleri Town Union Chief Chibuzor Hipo Onwuegbuke described the traditional ruler as a man of peace and has also been touring the entire Aguleri to sue for peace as well as cautioning the youths to desist from alcohol and other narcotics so that the community would have a peaceful terrain where all would thrive and succeed too.
The Aguleri Town Union President-General also noted that the traditional ruler was equally in constant relations with Governor Willie Obiano to enable him to ascertain areas of intervention in the community.
