The Chairman of the Independent Media and Policy Initiative (IMPI), Dr. Niyi Akinsiju, has been honoured with the prestigious title “Jakadan Zaman Lafiya Najeriya”
(Ambassador of Peace in Nigeria) by the Coalition of Northern Youth Forum of Nigeria in recognition of his contributions to nation-building.
The conferment took place at a brief but colourful ceremony in Abuja, where the youth group also presented him with an award celebrating his role in promoting patriotism, socio-economic discourse, and national development.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Coalition, Comrade Iliya Danladi, said Akinsiju’s nomination stemmed from his resilience and consistent advocacy for policies that strengthen unity and development across the country.
“Dr. Akinsiju has for years distinguished himself by speaking boldly on socio-economic and political issues.
His zeal and dedication are qualities we want Nigerian youth to emulate, especially as he himself was once a youth leader during his university days,” Danladi noted.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Akinsiju commended the group for its commitment to empowering young people in Northern Nigeria.
He highlighted some of the initiatives the coalition has undertaken in recent years, describing them as vital to fostering leadership and peace among youths.
He pledged to live up to the responsibility of the peace ambassador title bestowed on him, assuring the forum of his continued advocacy for unity, justice, and national progress.
