The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Anambra State for three more days.
According to the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information & Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, in a statement on Thursday, informed that the decision was made after the commission’s regular weekly meeting, where it reviewed the ongoing preparations for the forthcoming off-cycle governorship election in the state.
The statement disclosed that the CVR exercise, which was initially scheduled to end on Thursday, will now end on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
It also opined that a significant number of new voters have registered in the state since the exercise began nine days ago.
The Commission has also announced that it will display the register for claims and objections after the conclusion of the CVR, in line with legal provisions, and carry out further data cleanup using the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS).
INEC therefore expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the CVR exercise across the 326 registration centers in the state.
