INEC Gombe Gets New REC: Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris Pledges Transparency and Teamwork

The Gombe INEC office held a handover ceremony marking the transition from outgoing Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Alh Ibrahim Umar to newly appointed REC Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris.

The event brought together key staff, including Administrative Secretary, Heads of Departments, and other personnel.

The ceremony began with an opening prayer and remarks from the Administrative Secretary, emphasizing the importance of a smooth transition and the commission’s commitment to electoral integrity.

The outgoing REC provided insights into the office’s operations, highlighting challenges and reassuring the new REC of a seamless handover.

The new REC expressed gratitude to his predecessor and called on staff to uphold professionalism, excellence, dedication, integrity, and teamwork.

He emphasized the need for collective effort and transparency, encouraging staff to approach him with innovative ideas.

The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of handover notes, detailing the office’s operations, assets, and responsibilities.

The new REC was presented with the comprehensive document, and a group photograph was taken to mark the occasion.

Following the ceremony, the outgoing and incoming RECs visited the REC’s official residence and INEC Gombe Zonal Store to ensure a smooth transition.

The new REC also held meetings with Management Staff and General Staff, fostering camaraderie and reinforcing his commitment to an inclusive work environment.
