The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked reports of a May 27, 2025, resumption date for Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), including transfer and replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs).
INEC’s Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi, described the viral social media message as “fake and anonymous.”
INEC emphasized that it will formally announce important electoral processes through verified channels and platforms.
“When the resumption date is announced, it will be shared via official social media platforms.
The Commission cautioned against disseminating inaccurate information, which could cause confusion and unnecessary worry among the public.
“Nigerians are advised to rely only on official sources for updates and refrain from sharing unconfirmed reports.
INEC assured the public that it will publicly announce the CVR resumption date at the appropriate time, sharing full details via official social media platforms.
