The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche
Okafor has described fathers as veritable pillars of the family.
Felicitating with fathers in the State as they join their counterparts all over the World to celebrate this year’s International Fathers Day.
He maintained that the role of fathers in the family is pivotal, adding that the protection of the entire family members as well as provision of the basic family necessities are the
fundamental responsibilities of dutiful fathers.
Right Honourable Okafor enjoined fathers to shun acts capable of debasing their integrity but to lead their families with good morals and other virtues expected of responsible fathers.
The Speaker reminded them of the need to ensure peaceful atmosphere in their families at all times and to institute family prayers, which he said, would help to unite the family.
He urged mothers and children to accord necessary respect to fathers in obedience to the Biblical injunction in order to encourage them to continue to discharge their duties diligently.
