June 12: Nasarawa Speaker assures to make laws that are people centered

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi has promised to the citizens that the coming 7th Nasarawa legislative shall make laws that at are people centered, while holding the Government accountable as part of their constitutional responsibility of ensuring checks and balance between the Executive and the Legislature.

The Speaker who gave the promise in his address to commemorate the June 12 said Congratulate the Government and good people of Nasarawa State on the Nation’s Democracy day celebration.

Daniel informed that the recent skirmishes over the leadership of the 7th Assembly is an attempt to truncate Democracy which has failed woefully under their watch, assuring to continue to hold sacred democratic tenets.

He called on the citizens of Nasarawa State to be law abiding, keep the peace and further more, support the Government of the day in driving its policies and programmes for the development of the State.

“Today is very significant in our journey into Nationhood. Democracy as we all know is anchored on the People, a Government that has allowed for citizens participation, the best that has happened to us as one indivisible people under God.

“A process that has ushered in development for our nation Nigeria and Nasarawa State by extension.

“As a strong believer of Democracy and democratic process, and moreso as part of our constitutional mandate, we shall leave no stone unturned in our efforts towards sustaining and upholding Democracy and its tenets in Nasarawa state.

“As a responsible and responsive Assembly, we shall be accountable to the people, our citizens whom we hold in trust and on whose mandate we stand.

“In the coming legislative days ahead, we shall make laws that at are people centered, while holding the Government accountable as part of our constitutional responsibility of ensuring checks and balance between the Executive and the Legislature” he said.
