The Kaduna State Government has announced the beginning of Polio immunization for Internal Displace Persons (IPDs) in the State for the month of June.
The Deputy Director with Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Alhaji Hamza Ikara and the Co-ordinator of Journalists Initiative on Immunization against Polio (JAP) Kaduna State Chapter, Mallam Lawal Dogara stated this in a jointly statement and made available to newsmen in Kaduna, North-West, Nigeria.
According to them, the immunization is commencing between 30th of June to 3rd July, 2018 and would be conducted on the street, house to house, Markets, Motor parks and Highways among others.
They explained that all adequate arrangement had been made for the smooth conduct of the exercise by the State Government, State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCDA), Development partners and other stakeholders.
The statement called on the parents and caregivers to ensure they make their children available for immunization during the campaign and for routine immunization in nearby health centres or hospitals.
It also appealed to the Traditional and Religious Leaders to as usual give all the needed support for the successful conduct of the exercise in the State.
