The Nigerian Armed Forces have recorded major battlefield gains across all operational theatres, killing scores of terrorists, arresting dozens of criminal suspects, rescuing kidnapped victims, and disrupting a multi-million naira oil theft syndicate during operations conducted between August 7 and 14, 2025.
In its weekly operational briefing on Thursday in Abuja, the Director of Defence Media Operations (DDMO ), Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye, said troops, working alongside Hybrid Forces and other security agencies, executed raids, ambushes, air interdictions and covert missions that dismantled terrorist networks and restored relative calm to several hotspots.
North-East: Boko Haram, ISWAP Suffer Heavy Losses
Troops under Operation Hadin Kai launched aggressive ground and air offensives across Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States, killing multiple Boko Haram, ISWAP and JAS fighters, arresting 37 suspects, and rescuing five kidnapped victims. Weapons, ammunition, vehicles, motorcycles, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were seized and safely detonated.
North-West: Bandit Camps Crushed
Under Operation Fasan Yamma,
Troops stormed terrorist hideouts in Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States, killing several fighters, arresting 11 suspects, and freeing 17 hostages.
North-Central: Gunrunner Arrested with AK-47 Hidden in Animal Feed
Troops in Operation Safe Haven neutralized armed groups in Plateau, Kaduna, and Bauchi States, arresting four criminals and rescuing six kidnap victims.
A major gunrunner was intercepted in Jama’a LGA, Kaduna State, concealing an AK-47 rifle and ammunition in a sack of animal feed.
In Operation Whirl Stroke, forces arrested 13 terrorists across Benue, Taraba, Kogi, and the FCT, rescuing nine hostages and capturing large arms caches, including ammunition hidden in a deserted extremist camp.
South-South: ₦37.5 Million Oil Theft Foiled
Troops of Operation Delta Safe seized 24,575 litres of stolen crude oil, 9,140 litres of illegally refined diesel, and 2,650 litres of petrol.
They destroyed illegal refining sites, arrested 34 oil thieves and other criminals, and recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
South-East: IPOB/ESN Hideouts Raided
In Operation Udo Ka, troops arrested six suspected IPOB/ESN members and a kidnapper in Imo, Anambra, and Ebonyi States, recovering arms and ammunition.
Maj.-Gen. Kangye vowed that the Armed Forces would sustain the offensive until all threats to national security are neutralised.
