The Nigerian military’s Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has launched a successful offensive against Boko Haram terrorists in Yobe State, neutralizing a key commander, Malam Jidda, and several other terrorists.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday, the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations Headquarters Theatre Command
Operation HADIN KAI, Captain REUBEN KOVANGIYA informed that the operation, backed by close air support, targeted terrorist hideouts in Ngazalgana and the Timbuktu Triangle.
During the operation on June 9, 2025, he affirmed, troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce battle, resulting in the killing of Malam Jidda and several others. Many terrorists fled with gunshot wounds.
The Troops also recovered a significant cache of arms and equipment, including AK-47 rifles, motorcycles, and rocket-propelled gun tubes.
He mentioned that the ongoing operations demonstrate the effectiveness of OPHK’s counter-insurgency efforts, backed by efficient air support.
Captain KOVANGIYA noted that the military remained committed to defeating Boko Haram and restoring peace and security in the North-East region.
