Minister challenges 38 newly promoted Air Rank to redouble effort

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammed Matawalle has charged the newly promoted Officers of Air Rank to redouble their efforts they put in serving the nation, informing that the weight of their new roles is critical to the nation.

The Minister gave the charge on Friday during the decoration ceremony for 22 distinguished Nigerian Airforce officers who ascended to the rank of Air Vice Marshals, while 16 officers were elevated to the rank of Air Commodores and made available to newsmen in a press statement by Henshaw Ogubike, the Defence Director (Information) Press & Public Relations.

He urged the newly promoted officers to maintain professionalism and review strategies towards security challenges facing the nation.

“Promotion, especially to air rank, is demanding because the Service expects you to lead from a more holistic and strategic perspective.

“We must review our strategies, techniques, tactics, and procedures to assure our fellow citizens of their security and safety.

“I heartily congratulate you for your well-deserved promotions. Indeed, your painstaking efforts and remarkable contributions to the Service were instrumental to your success” he said.

Matawalle reiterated the government’s unwavering support saying, the Federal Government, under the able leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, remains committed to supporting the Nigerian military, ensuring a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Nation.

Earlier, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar charged the newly promoted officers, reminding them not to fall short of the expectations of Nigerians.

According to CAS, the newly promoted officers should remember that failure is not an option and enjoined them to continue to display selfless service and competence in their duties.
