The Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre (MLAILPKC) graduated 197 personnel on June 20, 2025, who are set to be deployed as Nigerian Contingent 10 to the ECOWAS Peacekeeping mission in The Gambia.

MLAILPKC, the graduation ceremony marked the end of a 5-week intensive pre-deployment training program.
The training program was designed in accordance with UN Core Pre-deployment Training Manuals (CPTM) and included mission-specific modules such as Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and Medical Evacuation.
The Chief of Operations (Army), Major General Uwem Bassey, emphasized the importance of professionalism and discipline, warning the troops to avoid any conduct that could bring dishonor to the mission or the country.
The troops were charged to embody the values of courage, dedication, and integrity, and to sustain and improve on the successes achieved by their predecessors in the ECOWAS mission.

Major General Ademola Adedoja said “I am optimistic that the troops of Nigerian Contingent 10 will deliver on the mandate and make Nigeria proud.”
The graduation ceremony was attended by senior military officers and heads of security agencies.
The Commandant of MLAILPKC commended the troops for their discipline and wished them a successful tour of duty in The Gambia.
