MOD new Perm Sec lauds NAF collaboration, pledges strong support

Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), has praised the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and other sister Services for their enhanced collaboration in combating insurgency and other criminal activities across the country.

This commendation came during his maiden visit to the NAF Headquarters (HQ) in Abuja and made available to newsmen in a press statement by Air Vice Marshal Olusola F Akinboyewa, the Director Public Relations and Information Headquarters Nigerian Air Force.

Ambassador Aduda expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Permanent Secretary MOD, and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to improving the welfare and providing unwavering support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria in all capacities.

In his remarks, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, described the current dispensation in the NAF as a “Golden Era” under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

The CAS highlighted the delivery in 2024 of 14 advanced aircraft, out of 64 expected within three years, and commended the Ministry’s support in strengthening NAF’s operational readiness.

He also used the opportunity to thank the Permanent Secretary for his visit to HQ NAF, promising to sustain the collaboration between the NAF and the Ministry.

The visit featured presentation of a commemorative souvenir to Ambassador Aduda, and a tour of the HQ NAF Memorial Arcade, where the Permanent Secretary laid a wreath and led the observance of a minute’s silence in honour of our Fallen Heroes.

The event underscored the importance of synergy between the MOD and the NAF in achieving national security goals.
