The Senate Minority Leader and Lawmaker representing Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro, has joined the nation’s political and traditional circles in mourning the death of Otunba Adekunle Ojora, revered Lagos royal elder and father-in-law of former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
Pa Ojora, who held the respected traditional title of Olori Omo Oba of Lagos, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday at the age of 93, marking the end of a long life deeply woven into Lagos’ royal heritage and public history.
In a condolence message released on Friday, Senator Moro expressed profound sorrow over the loss, describing it as a painful moment not only for the Saraki family but for all who knew the late elder statesman and custodian of tradition.
The Benue lawmaker said his thoughts were with Senator Saraki and his wife, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, as they navigate the grief of losing a father and pillar of family strength.
“This is a deeply trying moment,” Moro said, noting that the passing of Pa Ojora represents the departure of a man who lived a full, impactful and dignified life.
He described the late nonagenarian as a fulfilled elder who witnessed generations, served his people with honour, and left behind a legacy anchored on tradition, wisdom and family values.
While acknowledging the pain of loss, the Senate Minority Leader urged the Saraki family to draw comfort from the long, accomplished life Pa Ojora lived, praying that God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Senator Moro further prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed royal father, asking God to grant him eternal rest.
Otunba Adekunle Ojora’s death has continued to draw tributes from political leaders, traditional institutions and prominent Nigerians, reflecting the wide respect he commanded in life.
